Opinion:

What is the most frequent cause of dry eye amongst patients you have treated?

Age

What advice do you most frequently find yourself giving to dry eye patients?

The ocular surface is a complex environment and decreased tear production is often only part of the problem. Conditions like blepharitis, meibomitis and lid position must also be addressed to provide relief.

Do you have a dry eye "hot button" - for example, is there a condition you feel is often overlooked or misdiagnosed, or a treatment you feel is sometimes used inappropriately?

Meibomitis, blepharitis and lid laxity/malposition
