When you have dry eyes, the quantity and quality of your tears may be reduced. Lacrisert helps conserve your tears to provide continuous relief from your dry eye symptoms all day. Once inserted deep into the pocket of your lower eyelid, Lacrisert begins to gently dissolve. As Lacrisert dissolves it lubricates the eye bringing relief to moderate to severe dry eye signs and symptoms. Directions for inserting Lacrisert can be found in the Lacrisert box as well as online at www.Lacrisert.com. Some patients may require the flexibility of twice-daily dosing so it is important to speak with your doctor about using Lacrisert. Lacrisert is supplied with 60 individually wrapped, single dose inserts along with two applicators in each box. Safety Information: You should not use Lacrisert if you are hypersensitive to hydroxypropyl cellulose. The following adverse reactions have been reported in patients treated with Lacrisert but were, in most instances, mild and temporary: blurring of vision, eye discomfort, matting or stickiness of eyelashes and red eye.
